ABOUT THE SANTA FE SKATING CLUB

The Santa Fe Skating Club was established in 2002 when the Genoveva Chavez Community Center opened. The Club is a member of U.S. Figure Skating, the governing body of figure skating in the United States. We encourage and facilitate the instruction, practice, and advancement of all types of figure skating.  Our members include skaters of all ages and levels; from beginners to advanced skaters, recreational skaters, supportive family members, coaches, and judges.

Home Ice

Our home rink is the Genoveva Chavez Community Center Ice Arena. This is a multi-use facility operated by the City of Santa Fe Parks and Recreation Department. The Chavez Center is located at 3221 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM  87507. The telephone number for the ice arena is 505-955-4033.

Club Administration

The Santa Fe Skating Club is an independent nonprofit organization. It is tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The business of the Club is conducted by a Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors are listed on the Board of Directors page.

Coaches

The Santa Fe Skating Club has several member coaches. All of our Club coaches are required to adhere to standards set by the Board of Directors, including meeting U.S. Figure Skating's coach compliance requirements. More information about our Club coaches can be found on the Club Coaches page. Please note that Club coaches are not employees of the Santa Fe Skating Club.

Judges

The Santa Fe Skating Club has several members who are also U.S. Figure Skating judges. Our judges are always willing and happy to give skaters advice while preparing to take U.S. Figure Skating tests. More information about our judges can be found on the Club Judges page.

The membership year for the Santa Fe Skating Club is July 1 - June 30. Membership information is available on the Membership page.

Learn to Skate Group Lessons

The Santa Fe Skating Club offers Learn to Skate classes at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.
